UDOT and Tooele City will not be proceeding with the proposed traffic signal and raised median project at the SR-36 (Main Street) and Skyline Drive intersection. UDOT remains committed to its mission and goal of zero crashes, injuries, and fatalities, and is committed to studying the larger surrounding area to develop a solution that both addresses pedestrian safety and aligns with community needs. Thank you to all those who have engaged with the project to this point.

Study Overview

Tooele City, in partnership with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), proposed a project to construct a raised median along SR-36 (Main Street) from Skyline Drive to just south of 520 South. The proposed project would have also included the installation of a new traffic signal at the Skyline Drive/Main Street intersection, just north of the raised median, along with crosswalks on the north and east legs of the intersection.

These improvements were proposed as a measure to improve safety and access management at the intersection.
