Overview

To extend the life and improve the ride of the roadway, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will resurface Redwood Road (SR-68) from Pelican Point to Pony Express Parkway and State Route 73 from Cedar Pass Road to MP 35.01 (see map). This work also includes the reconstruction of a number of pedestrian ramps along the project corridor and drainage utility work for the City of Saratoga Springs.

Schedule

Work Begins: April 6, 2026
Work will begin with pedestrian ramp improvements.

Daytime Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Pavement work will begin in early May 2026 and will be conducted during nighttime hours.

Nighttime Hours: 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday evening to Friday morning)

Schedule is subject to change due to weather, materials availability or other unforeseen issues.

Expect

  • Some noise and vibration from equipment

  • Detours while paving through intersections
  • Pedestrian detours while reconstructing pedestrian access ramps
  • The use of flaggers throughout the construction process
  • Crews working along the roadway shoulders
  • Temporary lane, side street, and driveway closures during paving
  • Short traffic delays during nighttime hours

Construction: Spring 2026

Crews will be working on pedestrian ramps for the next few weeks during daytime hours, and then transition to nighttime work to the road surface consisting primarily of a thin resurfacing layer over Redwood Road with some milling and paving to a portion of the road taking place beforehand.

Crews will also be milling and paving SR-73 at night to reduce the impacts to the traveling public.

Paving work to Redwood Road and SR-73 will likely extend into the summer months. Watch for updated information here as we get closer to Summer.
