Overview

Construction Starts

Starting as early as Monday, May 11, crews will start repaving the first segment of I-80 from 2300 East to the Stillman Bridge in the mouth of Parleys Canyon. Construction in this segment will continue through June, and construction on the second segment will start this summer.

This work will provide a smoother ride for drivers and extend the life of the roadway.

What to Expect

  • I-80 will be reduced to one lane overnight Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Heavy travel delays are anticipated during the lane closures
  • Reduced lane widths, no oversize loads through work zone
  • Increased noise, dust, and vibrations

Project Overview

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will repave Interstate 80 (I-80) from 2300 East to Stillman Bridge in the mouth of Parleys Canyon, providing a smoother ride for drivers and extending the life of the roadway. Construction is anticipated to begin in May 2026 and continue through June 2026.
