Overview
Holiday Work Schedule
Crews wil pause work for the holiday weekend starting Tuesday, May 19, through Monday, May 25. Drivers may still see traffic control in place, so please use caution. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
Construction Starts
On Tuesday, May 12, crews will started repaving the first segment of I-80 from 2300 East to the Stillman Bridge in the mouth of Parleys Canyon. Construction in this segment will continue through June, and construction on the second segment will start as early as Tuesday, May 26.
What to Expect
- I-80 will be reduced to one lane overnight Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Heavy travel delays are anticipated during the lane closures
- Reduced lane widths, no oversize loads through work zone
- Increased noise, dust, and vibrations
Project Overview
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will repave Interstate 80 (I-80) from 2300 East to Stillman Bridge in the mouth of Parleys Canyon, providing a smoother ride for drivers and extending the life of the roadway. Construction is anticipated to begin in May 2026 and continue through June 2026.
