I-15 to Close Overnight March 13 & 15
UPDATE: The southbound closure tonight has been RESCHEDULED for tomorrow night due to inclement weather.
A full detour of I-15 traffic will occur overnight March 13 and 15 while our crews install the bridge steel support girders for the new 4400 South bridge. The footings and columns provide the foundation for the girders as our crews build the bridge from the ground up. See information and map below for details.
Northbound traffic will be detoured overnight Friday, March 13, onto Riverdale Road and then onto northbound I-84, beginning at 11 p.m. One lane will reopen by 7 a.m. and all lanes will reopen by 9 a.m. Southbound traffic will not be detoured.
Southbound traffic will be detoured overnight Sunday, March 15, at exit 340 onto Riverdale Road and then back onto southbound I-15, starting at 9:00 p.m. One lane will be opened by 5:00 a.m. and all lanes will reopen by 11 a.m. Northbound traffic will not be detoured.
There are ongoing lane closures on the inside lanes of northbound I-15 under the 4400 South bridge while work occurs in the median. These closures are every night starting at 6 p.m. Sun and 8 p.m. Mon-Sat, and ending at 5 a.m. through March 26. The shoulders will also be closed on northbound and southbound I-15 during that time.
I-84 Lane Closure
Starting 7 a.m. Monday, March 9, there will be a single lane closure on westbound I-84 starting at the Riverdale Road exit and continuing until the merge with northbound I-15. The shoulders will also be closed. This closure will continue through the end of March.
Project Description
We will replace three bridges in Riverdale, including 4400 South over I-15 and two ramp bridges carrying traffic to and from I-15 to I-84 over 4400 South. This work began August 11, 2025.
4400 South Bridge Closure over I-15
4400 South between 1600 West/Airport Road and Cozy Dale Drive is closed while crews rebuild the bridge over I-15. The road will reopen once the bridge is complete in May 2026.
4400 South (under I-84) between 1250 West/Parker Drive and Cozy Dale Drive is open while crews construct the bridge walls. One lane in each direction will be open during the day. However, traffic will be limited to one lane overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Flaggers will direct traffic. Travelers can expect delays of 15 minutes or more until both lanes open in the morning.
During Construction:
Emergency vehicles WILL have access on 4400 South Parker Drive and Cozy Dale Drive during the closure
- Pedestrian access remains OPEN on the pedestrian overpass
- 4400 South (to the east), 900 West, Riverdale Road and Cozy Dale Drive should be used as detour routes
- UTA’s Route 640 will be suspended along 4400 South and 1900 South. Riders can reach Route 640 at Riverdale Road between 1150 West and 1900 West
- Patrons of the Ogden Airport should use 31st Street to access the airport in the timeliest manner.
