Mountain View Corridor South Environmental Study Complete
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has completed the Mountain View Corridor South Final State Environmental Study (SES) and determined that the Proposed Action evaluated meets the transportation needs and goals of southern Saratoga Springs, while avoiding or minimizing environmental impacts.
The Mountain View Corridor South Final State Environmental Study, which includes responses to every public comment UDOT received on the Draft SES, is now available for review at the links below.

What is the Proposed Action?
The Proposed Action (or solution) is:
- 10.7 mile southern extension of Mountain View Corridor
- Freeway-Frontage Road from Cory B. Wride Memorial Highway (SR-73) to Lariat Boulevard
- Expressway from Lariat Boulevard to Redwood Road
- Two 12-foot-wide shared-use trails parallel to the frontage roads and the expressway, with crossings (over and under) local streets.
What changed in the Final SES since the Public Hearing?
Based on the 354 comments received during the May comment period, we completed additional analysis that led to several updates throughout the SES (see Section 4.5.1, Changes Resulting From Draft SES Public Comments). A summary of the major changes is below.
- Chapter 2, Proposed Action
- In collaboration with Saratoga Springs staff, the depressed freeway section starting at Cory B. Wride Memorial Highway was extended by about 4,000 feet, from Sunrise Park to Marie Way.
- Chapter 3, Affected Environment and Environmental Consequences
- Section 3.5, Social Environment: Updated traffic noise levels at Sunrise Park and Talus Ridge Park due to the extended depressed freeway.
- Section 3.7, Traffic Noise: Updated the number of impacted receptors resulting from the extended depressed freeway and increased the proposed height of Noise Barrier 1 from 17 feet to 21 feet. With this update, 13 of the 15 barriers (noise walls) are now recommended.
- Section 3.11, Visual Resources: Removed key observation points at Sunrise Park and Talus Ridge Park that would have been affected by the previously elevated freeway segment.
- Chapter 4, Coordination
- Added a summary of the public hearing and responses to public comments. See Section 4.5.3, Public Comment Responses.
