Ongoing Activities
700 West to 900 West
Work continues on 700 West including upgraded storm drains, new asphalt, additional sidewalks, curb, and gutters. During this work, 700 West will be restricted to NORTHBOUND only. All southbound traffic will be detoured at Sandy Parkway. Local two-way traffic will be allowed between 8400 South and 8800 South. Click here for the detour map.
As early as Monday, April 14, 700 West will be closed between 8800 South and 9000 South. Use Sandy Parkway as a detour route. Traffic will resume to northbound only around Friday, April 19.
900 West to Redwood Road
As early as April 14, crews will begin removing asphalt on the north side of 9000 South starting at 700 West and working west toward Redwood Road. Business driveways, residential driveways, and side streets will be closed for up to two weeks while this work takes place.
As early as April 25, the northside of the intersections at 1510 West 9000 South and 1300 West 9000 South will be closed by crews reconstruct the intersections. East and west traffic will remain open on 9000 South along with southbound traffic from the intersections. Northbound traffic approaching 9000 South will be required to turn left or right onto 9000 South. Drivers should use Redwood Road to 7800 South as an alternate route.
The intersections will reopen by 5:00 a.m. Monday, April 28.
Nearby residents and business may have an increase in noise, dust, and vibration as work takes place.
*Schedule is subject to change due to weather, equipment, or material delays.
Closures
Eastbound 9000 South left turn closed at 700 West
The left turning lane to 700 West from eastbound 9000 South will be closed. This closure is expected to last through Summer 2025. Traffic should use Sandy Parkway (450 West) as the detour route. Click here to see the recommended detour map. This closure is necessary to ensure safety as there is insufficient room to install a left-turning lane.
700 West is open for northbound traffic between 8800 South and 9000 South with local two-way traffic allowed between 8400 South and 8800 South. Click here for the detour map.
Patrons to the River Oaks Driving Range may only enter and leave eastbound on 9000 South. Drivers should not drive into the work zone as hazards may be present. Click here for the detour map.
