Overview
Project Overview
The Wasatch and Bengal Boulevards Intersection Safety Project will increase the safety and accessibility of the intersection for all travelers by adding improved push buttons at the crosswalks, replacing the aged curb and sidewalk around the intersection, and modifying the travel lanes and turn signals. This work began April 13 and is expected to conclude late summer 2026. Benefits include:
- Left turn traffic signals on Bengal Blvd and Honeywood Cove Dr.
- Crosswalk push buttons can be activated by a push or wave and will be audible.
- The existing lanes on Honeywood Cove Dr. will change to a left turn only lane and straight/right turn lane.
Short lane closures of a few hours at a time can be expected over the next several weeks as our crews work in the shoulders.
Pedestrian access will be maintained but will adjust according to the progress of the work. Crews and on-the-ground signage will be available to guide pedestrians through the area. Drivers and pedestrians should use caution in work areas and be prepared for shifting traffic patterns. Pedestrians and bicycles should stay out of work zones for safety as open trenches may be present.
