New signals at Pleasant Grove Boulevard
Project Overview
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is widening US-89 (State Street) to a 7-lane section from 220 South in Pleasant Grove to 500 East in American Fork in two phases. The project will eliminate a choke-point by widening the road to three lanes in each direction to match existing sections on either end; upgrade signals at 500 East, 700 East, North County Boulevard, 1300 West, and Pleasant Grove Boulevard; add new curb, gutter, and sidewalk on the south side, add new storm drain, and add new/upgrade pedestrian ramps.
Phase 1:
The following intersections will be widened to help reduce congestion:
- 500 East at State Street in American Fork in 2025.
- Pleasant Grove Boulevard at State Street in 2025.
- 1650 West to 1300 West in 2025
- State Street will receive a new pavement layer between the intersections.
- Construction in this phase is anticipated to finish in October 2025.
Phase 2:
- Phase 2 from 1650 West in Pleasant Grove to 600 East in American Fork is currenlty in design with construction planned in 2026. 1300 West will be widened during phase 2.
