UDOT will be extending the life of pavement along US-191 (Vernal Avenue) between US-40 and Steinaker Overlook.

Project Overview
On August 17, 2026, UDOT will begin a project to improve five miles of US-191 (Vernal Avenue). Road work will take place from US-40 (Main Street) to the Steinaker Reservoir overlook. Crews will remove the top layer of old asphalt and replace it with new pavement to help extend the life of the road. The project will also include safety and accessibility improvements, such as replacing some sidewalks and pedestrian ramps, installing new guardrail, and adding new road striping and signs.
These improvements will make US-191 safer and more reliable for everyone who travels through the area.

The construction team will begin work on Monday, August 17, 2026. The project will be complete within two months.

Work Hours: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Workdays: Monday - Friday
Weekend and night work may take place as needed.
Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions and material availability.
