Valley of the Gods Paving

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is repaving approximately 30 miles of roadway in San Juan County, including:

  • US-163 from Mexican Hat to the intersection with US-191
  • SR-261 from US-163 to Moki Dugway
  • SR-316 from SR-261 to Goosenecks State Park.

Improvements will include lane leveling, new pavement, fresh striping, and the replacement of two cattle guards on SR-261 and SR-316. Guardrails will be updated as needed.

The project will also include work on the Comb Wash Bridge to patch potholes, replace the membrane, and place new asphalt surfacing. These improvements will provide a better traveling experience and extend the life of the roads and bridge.
