Project Overview
The Utah Department of Transportation is improving SR-113 at 400 East (River Road) in Midway by installing a four-way signal with dedicated turn lanes, pedestrian access with crosswalks, and bike lanes. These changes aim to streamline traffic, reduce delays, and make the intersection safer for motorists and active transportation users.
Key Features Include:
• New four-way traffic signal at SR-113 and 400 East (River Road)
• Dedicated turn lanes to improve traffic flow
• Pedestrian access improvements with marked crosswalks
• New bike lanes to support active transportation users
Construction Impacts:
Motorists can expect to be shifted into open lanes as necessary. Be prepared to stop for one-way traffic-light operations. There may also be full closures along 400 East (River Road) at times; detour routes will be posted. Please anticipate light delays between 5–10 minutes. Alternate pedestrian access will be available during construction. Some light to moderate noise from equipment can be expected. Two-way travel will remain in place during non-working hours and holidays.
**One-way alternating traffic will be in place on Midway Main Street between 300 East and 500 East from early March through early August. During this time, access at the intersection of 400 East and Main Street will be limited during daylight hours.
In addition, from April 29 through May 29, the intersection of 500 East and Main Street will be fully closed due to major excavation activities. Drivers are advised to use caution when traveling through the area, follow all posted traffic control, and slow down for crews.
Please note that crews may intermittently shift traffic control to the opposite side of the road as work progresses. Drivers should be prepared to stop and follow directions from onsite crews and temporary traffic signals when these changes occur.
