Beginning on Thursday, June 6, crews started laying asphalt pavement from MP 10 West of Big Water on the eastbound lane. Until the first week of July, crews will continue to place asphalt from the Arizona Stateline to MP 10 in Utah. This work requires one lane traffic operation in the construction zone. Motorists can expect up to a 15 minute delay while waiting for their lane of traffic to travel through the closure area. The one lane traffic operation will be active, Monday through Friday from about 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Traffic will return to a normal pattern with no delays on Saturdays and Sundays.

The new asphalt paving will extend the duration of the road and renew the driving surface.

Please obey all traffic control, observe the speed limit and don't drive distracted. Let's keep everyone safe.

A hot-in-place asphalt paving train recycles and relays asphalt pavement during the first phase of construction.

A fresh coat of permanent, pavement, marking paint has been applied to the new road surface.

Crews have been busy for three weeks placing asphalt pavement on US-89 from the AZ Stateline to MP 10 West of Big Water, Ut.
