The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will be performing roadway preservation work along 2nd Street to Wall Avenue along US-89 in Weber County. This project is designed to extend the life of the roadway and improve safety for all users.
Overview
Project Overview
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will resurface US-89 in Weber County from 2nd Street to Wall Avenue. The project objectives are aimed at preserving the life of the road. This paving process will help increase the longevity of the road surface and enhance motorist safety by providing a smoother driving surface. Additional work includes ADA sidewalk ramp upgrades, and restriping throughout the project area.
Construction began on August 3 and is expected to be completed by early October. The bulk of the work is ongoing and expected mid-September, followed by a 21–30-day break before final activities.
Crews began daytime work on North Street, then moved northwest to Wall Avenue before completing the ramps between 2nd Street and North Street. Multiple ramps were worked on simultaneously. Daytime work is now complete.
Nighttime work began near Wall Avenue and is progressing south toward 2nd Street. Crews will circle back through the corridor several times as they complete the remaining work.
*No parking will be allowed on the street during construction hours for the duration of the project.
