US-6 & US-89 Thistle Junction Safety Project

UDOT is designing improvements to the US-89 and US-6 intersection to improve safety and increase traffic flow capacity.

The proposed design concept would keep US-6 at the current grade, lower the grade of US-89, and install a bridge for US-89 traffic to go under US-6. These changes will enhance safety and ensure uninterrupted travel on US-6 and US-89.

Key improvements include:

• Constructing an underpass for US-89 to provide a grade-separated crossing for US-89 traffic
• Reconstructing turning movements with longer acceleration and deceleration lanes
