UDOT is designing improvements to the US-89 and US-6 intersection to improve safety and increase traffic flow capacity.
Project Overview
We are designing improvements to the U.S. Route 89 (US-89) and U.S. Route 6 (US-6) intersection to improve safety and increase traffic flow capacity.
The proposed design concept will keep US-6 at the current grade, lower the grade of US-89, and install a bridge for US-89 traffic to go under US-6. These changes will enhance safety and ensure uninterrupted travel on US-6 and US-89.
Key improvements include:
- Constructing an underpass for US-89 to provide a grade-separated crossing for traffic
- Reconstructing turning movements with longer acceleration and deceleration lanes
