Project Overview

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is repaving a 1-mile section of U.S. Highway 40 near the Wasatch and Duchesne County line as well as a 7-mile section between Fruitland and SR-208.

Work began the week of July 6th. We will conduct roadway reconstruction near Red Creek (MP 65), then mill the asphalt and pave US-40. Following paving activities, we will reinstall barriers and guardrail and replace pavement markings and signage.

Work is anticipated to be completed by late November 2026.

Current Construction Activities: September 2026

Crews are conducting roadway reconstruction and paving at Red Creek (between MP 65-65.7). 

• While reconstruction and paving is underway near Red Creek, US-40 is narrowed to one-way traffic with a 12-foot-wide lane during daytime and nighttime hours as well as on weekends, directed by flaggers or temporary signals. Expect delays. 
• While paving occurs between Monday, September 21 and approximately Wednesday, September 30, drivers should anticipate 2-3 hours closures of side streets (including Red Creek Road/41950 West) while paving equipment passes by and the new asphalt cures.
