Project Overview

UDOT will place a chip seal road treatment along approximately nine miles of US-191 in Uintah County to preserve and extend the life of the pavement.
This project also includes safety improvements like guardrail installation and sign replacements along the construction route.

Project Map

This project takes place between the turn off to Simplot Phosphates LLC and Red Cloud Loop on US-191 in Uintah County.

Project Timeline

March 2, 2026: Crews began sealing cracks in the asphalt to prepare the road for resurfacing in the spring.

April to May 2026: Crews will place a chip seal road treatment, install guardrail, and replace signage along the route. This is expected to take up to two months to complete.

 

Schedule

Work Hours: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Workdays: Monday - Friday

Weekend work may take place as needed.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions and material availability.

Spring 2026 - Early Summer 2026

In early March, crews will begin work by sealing cracks in the asphalt north and south of the new alignment of US-191 in this area. 

Once temperatures warmer in the spring, they will return to place a chip seal, replace guardrail, and improve signage.
