State Route 132 Safety Improvement Projects (Near the mouth of Nephi Canyon)
The SR-132 project is a project identified by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) as a Safety Improvement Project. The ongoing project aims to further enhance safety on the road by combining two projects.
Project Description
A new passing lane will be added from the Canyon Hills Golf Course to Milepost 37. Then, from Milepost 37 to Milepost 38, an existing passing lane will be connected to the next existing passing lane, creating a longer and safer passing lane for eastbound traffic.
This two pronged project is pivotal to improved traffic flow and safety on SR-132 and is anticipated to last throughout the fall of 2024.
What to Expect
Here's what you can expect as the project startup begins as early as mid-April.
- Survey crews will be marking the right or way, utilities, and other infrastructure items along the route
- The contractor will also begin adding the heavy equipment required to build the project.
- Anticipate alternating one-way traffic with potential 15–20-minute delays.
- Flaggers will manage traffic during working hours, with occasional stops for construction equipment crossings.
- You can expect slower driving due to limited space; maintain safe following distance and obey speed limits possible
Keep this information in mind to ensure a safe and smooth drive through the construction zone.
Schedule
Project begins April 2. Working hours 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
