Project Overview

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), Cedar City, and Iron County appreciate the community members who participated at the SR-56 and Iron Springs Road Public Hearing on June 12, 2025. Based on the comments received, UDOT is including the following changes in the revised project design that will proceed to construction in Spring 2026.

  • Adding a traffic signal to the intersection of SR-56 and Iron Springs Road.
  • Adding an eastbound acceleration lane on SR-56 for traffic turning right from 5300 West.
  • Adjusting the lane lines to simplify traffic flow, making the High-Tee configuration easier to navigate.

The environmental document is available for review by sending an email to stateroute56reconstruction@utah.gov.
