SR-7 | Southern Parkway | Improved

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will be implementing a new EB passing lane near the Sand Hollow Resort on SR-7 (Southern Parkway) in Washington County. 

Project Overview

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will be implementing a new eastbound (EB) passing lane near the Sand Hollow Resort on State Route 7 (Southern Parkway) in Washington County. The project objectives are focused on improving traffic flow, reducing congestion, and enhancing safety along this busy corridor. By providing an additional lane for passing, the project will help balance traffic speeds, improve travel reliability, and create a smoother, more predictable driving experience for all road users.

**During working hours - wide load width restriction is 12 feet. Please contact the project team for special requests or more information.

Schedule

Work Hours: Daytime hours (7am - 6pm); Occasional Nights

Workdays: Monday - Friday (Sat. only as necessary)

No holiday work.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions and material availability.

Construction

October 13-16: Paving operations are anticipated to begin.

  • One-lane in each direction will be maintained

October 19-28: Paving and milling operations, line striping, and rumble strips

  • Oct. 20, Oct. 26, and Oct. 27 will require a rolling slow down with a reduced speed of 40 MPH

Late October/Early November: Concrete Barrier

Mid-November: Remove and Install Signs

Late November 2026: Construction is anticipated to conclude

September 1, 2026: Work began on east side of project

September 15 - October 5: Roadway Excavation to create new passing lane.
