Project Description

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will resurface State Route 77 in Utah County from Main Street in West Springville City to SR-147 near the Lakeshore community. The project objectives are aimed at preserving the life of the roadway. This resurfacing process will help increase the longevity of the road surface, address roadway imperfections and enhance motorist safety by providing good skid resistance for vehicles. Additional work will include updated roadway signage, travel lane painting/striping, and road surface directional markings.

Phase 1: May 6 - June 7

  • Intersection and property access paving/gravel applications were completed.

    Paving application took place along the entire route.

    Tuesday, May 28 – Friday, June 14.

    Gravel material was added to smooth the edge of asphalt to the shoulders (shouldering).

    New/upgraded roadside signs were installed.

    Temporary travel lane striping was applied.

    This entire phase took approximately 1 month to complete.

Phase 2: August 19 - 28

  • Chip-seal coat resurfacing was completed, primarily from Palmyra Dr. to SR-147.

  • Lane width restrictions were in place.
  • Permanent travel lane and roadway directional painting and striping were completed.
  • Miscellaneous work was completed as scheduled.
  • The resurfacing work took just over 1 week to complete, with additional work continuing for an additional 5 days.

Phase 3 (East-side Paving): May 20th, 2025 - May 30th, 2025

  • Chip-Seal coat resurfacing. Primarily from Palmyra Dr. to Main Street in West Springville.

  • Permanent travel lane, roadway directional painting and striping
  • Miscellaneous work TBA

The resurfacing work should take just over 1 week to complete, with additional work continuing for an additional 5 days.
