Overnight Lane Closure on Eastbound I-80

Starting as early as Wednesday night, March 18, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., eastbound I-80 near the SR-201 exit will be reduced to one lane while crews install an overhead sign. The SR-201 exit will remain open, but drivers should use caution and expect delays.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING NORTHBOUND SR-36 AND EASTBOUND I-80 CONSTRUCTION: 

  • Day work on eastbound I-80 and northbound SR-36

    • Monday through Friday 

      • 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

  • Lane closures as needed

  • Increased noise, dust, and vibration

  • Travel delays

  • Reduced lane widths and shoulders on eastbound I-80

Construction: 2025 to 2026

 

  • Starting Monday, June 16, construction will begin on northbound SR-36 between Interstate 80 (I-80) and Stansbury Parkway. 
    • Intersections will be improved and resurfaced after widening.
    • An auxillary lane will be added to eastbound I-80 from SR-36 to the SR-201 exit.
