Project Overview
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will widen State Route (SR) 36 between Sunset Lane and Stansbury Park, improve and resurface intersections on northbound SR-36 and add an auxiliary lane on eastbound I-80 from SR-36 to the SR-201 exit. This project is being done to improve mobility and reduce congestion for drivers. Construction will be done in phases and continue through 2025.
Project Schedule
Southbound SR-36; Sunset Road to Stansbury Parkway - Construction Paused for Winter Season
Construction on southbound SR-36 between Sunset Lane and Stansbury Parkway in Tooele County is paused for the winter season. During this time, all traffic controls and equipment will be removed from the project area, and no active work will take place. Work will resume in spring 2025.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN SPRING 2025:
- Night work Monday–Friday
- Temporary lane closures
- Minor travel delays
- Increased noise, dust, and vibration
Construction on Northbound SR-36 Starts Next Summer
Starting in summer 2025, crews will begin widening northbound SR-36 between Sunset Lane and Stansbury Parkway, improving and resurfacing intersections, and adding an auxiliary lane on eastbound I-80 from SR-36 to the SR-201 exit.
