Project Overview
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will widen State Route (SR) 36 between Sunset Lane and Stansbury Park, improve and resurface intersections on northbound SR-36 and add an auxiliary lane on eastbound I-80 from SR-36 to the SR-201 exit. This project is being done to improve mobility and reduce congestion for drivers. Construction will be done in phases and continue through 2025.
Project Schedule
Southbound SR-36; Sunset Road to Stansbury Parkway Construction
Starting as early as Monday, July 8, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will begin phase one construction on southbound State Route (SR) 36 between Sunset Road and Stansbury Parkway in Tooele County. This project will widen, improve, and resurface the road and intersections. Construction is anticipated to continue through spring 2025.
Starting as early as Monday, Sept. 30, crews will begin daywork Monday through Friday from 7 a.m to 5 p.m. on southbound SR-36. During this time, drivers can expect lane closures to accommodate the road work.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
• Daywork Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Increased noise, dust, and vibration
• Minor travel delays
Phase two construction will begin in 2025 and will take place on northbound SR-36 and eastbound I-80.
