Overview
Starting as early as Monday, March 16, 2026, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is continuing a sidewalk construction project along the south side of SR-171 (3500 South) from Wing Pointe Drive (7615 West) to Magnolia Street (7495 West). Work includes building a new sidewalk to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility and promote walkability, and may include related curb and gutter and drainage improvements.
Schedule
Construction activity will take place Monday through Friday with some weekend work possible, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The public is encouraged to visit the UDOT Traffic website or app at udottraffic.utah.gov for current closure status and construction activities.
What to Expect
Construction began on Monday, March 23, 2026. and will continue until as late as early May.
Construction activity will take place Monday through Friday with some weekend work possible, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Potential lane closures/traffic control changes (check UDOT Traffic/App for real-time impacts.)
Noise, dust, and construction equipment in the area during work hours.
Heavy equipment, support vehicles, and crew members are in the area.
We’ll coordinate directly with homeowners and property owners on any driveway/access impacts.
Drivers should follow marked traffic patterns during construction.
