State Route 158; Powder Mountain Runaway Truck Ramp
A new truck escape ramp is set for construction on S.R. 158 west of Powder Mountain Resort. The catch-net cable system is relatively new to Utah and uses a series of cable nets to stop runaway trucks coming down the canyon.
The escape ramp uses a concrete chute to guide runaway tricks into the correct position, were cable restraints are then used to steop the trucks. When a truck hits the cables, they are designed to wrap around the truck, causing it to lose speed and eventually stop.
