Project Overview

This project will make improvements on both lanes for 10 miles. Motorists can expect up to 15-minute delays in each direction with pilot car operations during the course of the project. Crews will be working Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be no road improvements during the weekends as well. Traffic will flow in a normal pattern with one lane in each direction during non working hours.

Please slow down and follow all traffic control.

Crews are making good progress paving SR-143.

Design

Design for this project is complete. These improvements are improving cattleguards throughout the project area and improve driving conditions with new asphalt pavement on SR-143.

Construction Start Date

Construction began on Monday, May 18, 2026. Crews will be working Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

All designated cattleguards have been replaced. Our construction team is now focused on improving the road surface with new asphalt pavement.
