Start of Construction Update | June 1, 2026

 

Upcoming Work

Crews will begin final roadway improvement activities along SR-12 starting Thursday, June 4. Remaining work includes applying a chip seal treatment to help protect and preserve the roadway surface, a flush coat application to seal the roadway and improve durability and final pavement striping to install permanent roadway markings.

Driver Reminders:

Lane shifts, temporary signalized traffic control and intermittent flagging operations with two-way reversing traffic will remain in place throughout the work zone during active construction.

 

Drivers should plan for short-term delays, allow extra travel time, and use caution while traveling through the area. 


Project Overview

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is underway to replace a box culvert on State Route 12 from approximately milepost (MP) 6 to MP 7. This project includes renewing the roadway surface and replacing a box culvert. This project will extend the life of the roadway and improve drainage. Work began in summer 2025 and expected to be completed in June 2026. 

What to Expect 

  • Daytime, nightwork, and occasional weekend work
  • Limited cell service
  • Intermittent and temporary traffic restrictions
  • Short-term 20-minute delays during daytime operation
  • Noise, dust, vibration, and nighttime lighting
  • Heavy equipment, support vehicles, and crew members in the area
