SR-226 | Snowbasin Road | Technology

UDOT is working along SR-226 in Weber County from milepost (MP) 0 to MP 3 to install fiber optic infrastructure. This section of roadway serves as a key connection between Trappers Loop and Snowbasin Resort.

Project Overview

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has begun Phase 2 of the Trappers Loop Fiber Project on SR-226 in Weber County. This section of roadway connects Trappers Loop and Snowbasin Resort. The project is part of a larger 27-mile effort in Weber and Morgan counties. Crews are installing fiber cable and utilities, paving the road, and improving shoulders. The project will expand UDOT's fiber network, improve communications along the corridor, and support travel and recreation in the area. Work began in September and is anticipated to be completed this winter.

  • Daytime work Monday - Saturday (7 a.m. – 6 p.m.)

    • Occasional weekend work

  • Moving operations throughout the project area

  • Lane shifts and restrictions 

  • Noise, dust, and vibration

  • Heavy equipment, support vehicles, and crew members

  • Minor delays
