Project Overview

UDOT will place a chip seal road treatment along approximately nine miles of US-191 in Uintah County to preserve and extend the life of the pavement.
This project also includes safety improvements like guardrail installation and sign replacements along the construction route.

Project Timeline

March 2026: Crews sealed cracks in the asphalt to prepare the road for resurfacing in the summer.

June 2026: Crews will place a chip seal road treatment, install guardrail, and replace signage along the route. This is expected to take up to two months to complete.

 

Schedule

Work Hours: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Workdays: Monday - Sunday

Chip seal installation will occur over the weekend of June 26.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions and material availability.

Summer 2026

Crews are working to finish paint activities and shoulder compaction along the route.

Project Milestones

  • Chip seal installation was completed on July 2, 2026.
  • Deliator installation was finished on June 24, 2026.
  • Asphalt work was completed on June 5, 2026. Chip seal work remains.
  • Crack seal was completed in March of 2026.
