Project Overview
UDOT is completing roadway preservation improvements along Porter Rockwell Boulevard (SR-131) from approximately Harmon Day Drive to 14600 South (SR-140) in Salt Lake County. The project will help preserve existing roadway infrastructure, improve pavement conditions, and maintain safer travel for all roadway users.
Project Improvements
Project work may include:
Replacement of substandard pedestrian ramps
Removal and replacement of the top layer of the road surface
Replacement of median curb
Adjust utilities within the roadway
Repaint striping on the roadway
Replacement of some roadway signage
What to Expect during Construction
Construction activities will occur in phases and may require temporary lane closures, traffic shifts, reduced speeds, sidewalk closures/detours, and intermittent delays throughout the corridor. We will work to minimize impacts to nearby residents, businesses, and the traveling public whenever possible.
To maximize efficiency and coordination with nearby projects, the majority of work is anticipated to occur at night.
Parking Reminder
Please remember that on-street parking is not permitted along Porter Rockwell Boulevard. During construction, parking restrictions will be actively enforced to help maintain safe traffic flow and allow construction activities to proceed efficiently. Vehicles parked along the roadway will be subject to citation and towing.

Construction began on June 1, 2026.
