Project Description

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will continue resurfacing State Route 85 (Mtn. View Corridor) in Salt Lake County from Old Bingham Hwy. to 13400 S, including various intersections from 6200 to 9000 S.  The project objectives are aimed at preserving the life of the roadway by increasing the longevity of the road surface, address roadway imperfections, and enhance pedestrian/motorist safety.  Additional miscellaneous work includes improving the line-of-sight for motorists at Old Bingham Highway, adding a northbound acceleration lane at 5400 S, widen the shoulders and upgrade the crash cushion at the SR-201(3500 S) westbound off-ramp to SR-85. Final updates include enhanced roadway directional messaging, and updated guardrail at intersections from Porter Rockwell to SR-201.

Daytime Miscellaneous Work

Work Hours: 7am - 5pm   

Work Days: Monday - Friday

Starting Monday, April 29 (updated): Roadway widening work will begin at the 5400 S intersection along the Northbound onramp.  Be prepared for some shoulder or outside lane closures on northbound SR-85.  (see graphic)

Mid-May (updated):  Simultaneous work will begin along the roadway widening work will begin at the SR-201 intersection along the southbound onramp to SR-85. Be prepared for some shoulder or outside lane closures on southbound SR-85. (see graphic)

Nighttime Intersection Lane Striping

Work Hours: 10pm - 5am   

Work Days: Tue PM - Sun AM

Starting Wednesday, April 10:  Crews will begin striping lane and stignal stop lines at intersections starting at 9000 S at work south to 126000 S.  This work will continue for the next 1-2 weeks depending on weather.
