Project Description

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is proactively preserving the Mantua Bridge deck in both directions to extend its lifespan and prevent the need for costly future rehabilitation. By addressing wear and tear early, this project enhances safety, improves reliability for drivers, and provides long-term savings for taxpayers.

Bridge deck maintenance is scheduled to begin on March 10, 2025. During construction, lane closures will be in place, but at least one lane will remain open in each direction at all times. Speed limits will be reduced to 55 mph near work zones, and motorists should anticipate minor delays of up to 15 minutes as traffic slows through the area. Temporary access restrictions may apply to intersections within the project limits. Drivers are urged to stay alert, reduce speed, and follow posted signs near construction areas.

To minimize disruptions, all lanes will be open during nighttime hours, weekends, and holidays. Additionally, occasional flagging operations will guide traffic under the US-89 bridge as needed.
