Project Description
We carried out critical preservation work on the Mantua Bridge deck in both directions. This project was designed to extend the bridge’s service life and prevent the need for more extensive—and costly—repairs in the future. By addressing wear and tear early, UDOT enhanced safety, improved long-term travel reliability, and delivered cost-effective solutions for Utah taxpayers.
Construction began in late March. Since then, crews worked to remove deteriorated surface materials, perform structural repairs, and prepare the bridge for resurfacing.
During construction, lane closures were in place; however, at least one lane in each direction remained open at all times to maintain traffic flow. Drivers experienced delays, particularly during peak travel hours, and were encouraged to plan ahead, reduce speed, and exercise caution through the work zone.
