Preserving the Mantua Bridge deck to extend its lifespan and prevent costly repairs, ensuring long-term travel reliability.
Project Description
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is carrying out critical preservation work on the Mantua Bridge deck in both directions. This project is designed to extend the bridge’s service life and prevent the need for more extensive—and costly—repairs in the future. By addressing wear and tear early, UDOT is enhancing safety, improving long-term travel reliability, and delivering cost-effective solutions for Utah taxpayers.
Construction began in late March. Since then, crews have been hard at work removing deteriorated surface materials, performing structural repairs, and preparing the bridge for resurfacing. Major paving operations are scheduled for July 31 and August 30, 2025, weather permitting—key milestones in bringing the project closer to completion.
During construction, lane closures will be in place; however, at least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times to maintain traffic flow. Drivers should expect delays, particularly during peak travel hours, and are encouraged to plan ahead, reduce speed, and exercise caution through the work zone.
UDOT thanks the public for their patience and cooperation as we work to keep this vital corridor safe and dependable for years to come.
