Project Description
We will replace three bridges in Riverdale, including 4400 South over I-15 and two ramp bridges carrying traffic to and from I-15 to I-84 over 4400 South. This work began August 11, 2025.
Meet the Contractor Open House
You are invited to attend our Meet the Contractor public open house on January 14, 2026, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Riverdale Community Center. Come ask questions and learn more about the detour routes, schedule, short-term impacts and long-term benefits of this project.
Holiday Break
Our crews will pause all construction from Tuesday, December 23, through Monday, January 5, in observance of Christmas and the New Year.
4400 South Bridge over I-15 Closure
4400 South between 1600 West/Airport Road and Cozy Dale Drive is closed while crews rebuild the bridge over I-15.
With the end of the government shutdown, UDOT has been able to resume communication with the FAA to obtain approval to work near the Ogden Airport flight path. Construction on the 4400 South bridge over I-15 will resume Monday, December 1, when our crews begin driving steel beams into the ground on the west side for the new bridge support walls. The bridge is anticipated to reopen in April 2026.
The public outreach team intends to host a rescheduled Meet the Contractor open house once a schedule is more firmly set. The team continues to work with Riverdale City, its police department, and individual businesses to address concerns related to the detour around 4400 South.
4400 South (under I-84) between 1250 West/Parker Drive and Cozy Dale Drive is open while crews construct the bridge walls. One lane in each direction will be open during the day. However, traffic will be limited to one lane overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Flaggers will direct traffic. Travelers can expect delays of 15 minutes or more until both lanes open in the morning.
DURING CONSTRUCTION:
- Emergency vehicles WILL have access on 4400 South Parker Drive and Cozy Dale Drive during the closure
- Pedestrian access remains OPEN on the pedestrian overpass
- 4400 South (to the east), 900 West, Riverdale Road and Cozy Dale Drive should be used as detour routes
- UTA’s Route 640 will be suspended along 4400 South and 1900 South. Riders can reach Route 640 at Riverdale Road between 1150 West and 1900 West
- Patrons of the Ogden Airport should use 31st Street to access the airport in the timeliest manner.

We are partnering with the cities of Roy and Riverdale to make these improvements to local infrastructure to reduce disruption to the community.
