Project Description

The Utah Department of Transportation will replace three bridges in Riverdale, including 4400 South over I-15 and two ramp bridges carrying traffic to and from I-15 to I-84 over 4400 South. This work will begin August 11, 2025, and is expected to last 10 months.

4400 South Bridge over I-15 Closure

Beginning Monday, August 11, 4400 South between 1600 West/Airport Road and Cozy Dale Drive will close for approximately three months while crews demolish and rebuild the bridge over I-15. In addition, beginning Friday, August 22, the 4400 South closure will extend to 1250 West/Parker Road for approximately six weeks.

Drivers should use 1900 West, Riverdale Road, and Cozy Dale Drive as a detour route and plan a few extra minutes for their commute through the area. See the detour map below. 

Patrons of the Ogden Airport should use 31st Street to access the airport in the timeliest manner.

I-15 Closure

I-15 will also close in both directions underneath 4400 South overnight Saturday, August 23 to Sunday, August 24. The closure will begin at 10 p.m. and end at 8:30 a.m. Both northbound and southbound travelers should use I-84 as the detour route. 

During construction:

• The pedestrian overpass will remain intact

• UTA’s Route 640 will be suspended along 4400 South and 1900 South. Riders can reach Route 640 at Riverdale Road between 1150 West and 1900 West

Inspections allow us to act well in advance to replace structures on their way towards disrepair. We are partnering with the cities of Roy and Riverdale to make these improvements to local infrastructure to reduce disruption to the community.
