Project Overview

An unique approach for minimal impact

We are planning to replace two bridges on Interstate 80 (I-80) at the Jeremy Ranch interchange in Summit County. These bridges are key travel routes for residents, commuters, visitors, and commercial trucking, helping people, goods, and services move through Utah. Replacing them now ensures safer, smoother travel for decades to come.

An innovative approach to construction

To reduce months of traffic impacts of this project, we will use the Accelerated Bridge Construction method. This technique lets us build the new bridges next to the freeway, before sliding them into place during a short closure.

Check out the ABC Method in action!

What This Means for You

  • Long-term safety improvements to both bridges

  • Shortened construction timeline compared to traditional methods

  • Minimal disruption to traffic on I-80 as construction focuses on Homestead Road

  • Plan ahead for additional delays on Homestead Road

What to Expect During Construction

  • Lane closures on Homestead Road throughout construction

  • Day work Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    • Night work as needed

  • Trail shifted to the road

  • Trucks entering and exiting the work zone

  • Increased noise, dust, and vibration in the project area

  • Up to two weekends of full road closures on I-80 at Jeremy Ranch in 2027
