UDOT is starting a major construction project on I-215 West from SR-201 to North Temple. Project Elements include: Roadway resurfacing, Rehabilitating 22 bridges, Improving 14 miles of ramps.
Project Overview
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is starting a major construction rehabilitation project on I-215 West from SR-201 to North Temple. Project Elements include:
- Roadway reconstruction
- Rehabilitation of 22 bridges
- Pavement reconstruction on 14 miles of ramps on I-80 and California Avenue

Traffic Impacts*
Ongoing
- Intermittent overnight lane closures will affect both Northbound and Southbound I-215 throughout the end of September
- The ramp from Redwood Road near I-80 to I-215 NB is closed through October. Please follow the posted detour or consider an alternate route
- I-215 NB is reduced to 3 lanes that are shifted to the east and will remain in place through October
- I-215 SB is reduced to 3 lanes that are shifted to the west and will remain in place through October
Construction Activities
- In the center of I-215, crews are installing pipes and drain boxes for the new drainage system
- Once the new drainage system is installed, crews will prepare the middle of 215 for asphalt paving in late September
