PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is constructing a new, two-lane frontage road adjacent to southbound I-215 from 4100 South to 4700 South in Taylorsville. Improvements will also include:

  • A new east-west road connecting the new frontage road to 2700 West
  • Retaining walls
  • A box culvert at North Jordan Canal
  • Improvements to trail connections
  • A third westbound 4700 S through-lane at I-215

The purpose of this project is to improve connectivity from I-215 to the local roadway network, enhancing the mobility of people, goods and services to and from the project area.

Construction begins with culvert work at the North Jordan Canal.

Throughout March, crews will be staging equipment, preparing work areas and removing landscaping.

April 4-7, 2024

Crews will be installing temporary pavement at the 4700 South exit of I-215 Southbound. Lanes will be shifted away from the shoulder. This work will be completed at night, with day work on the weekends, and finished in time for commuting hours on April 8.
