The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is installing a new Variable Message Sign (VMS) above southbound I-15 between 12300 South and Bangerter Highway. The overhead sign will provide real-time travel information, such as traffic conditions, incidents, weather impacts, and travel advisories, to improve communication with drivers and support safer, more informed travel decisions. This project is part of ongoing efforts to enhance mobility, safety, and traffic management along the I-15 corridor. Construction is scheduled to begin on July 20, 2026.

Project Overview

What to Expect
- Overnight construction activities along I-15
- Intermittent lane and shoulder closures
- Short-term daytime work on Pony Express Road
- Heavy equipment, support vehicles, and crews working in the area
Traffic Impacts
Pony Express Road
- A lane shift is in place on Pony Express Road through the remainder of the project. Construction activities on Pony Express Road are scheduled from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 8 and Friday, October 9
