Overview

Project Overview

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has transitioned the I-15 Santaquin to Payson Improved project from the environmental phase into program delivery.

This project aims to improve congestion and travel conditions on I-15 by adding an additional lane in each direction on I-15 between northern Juab County (milepost 238) and Payson (near the 800 South exit) and installing a new interchange on I-15 at Santaquin Main Street.

This project will also improve local road connectivity in Santaquin around the Main Street interchange and modernize existing bridges that cross I-15 in the project area.

The I-15 Santaquin to Payson Improved project is utilizing the Design-Build process, which leads to faster project delivery, greater flexibility and is a better value for state funds. See the “What is Design-Build?” tab for more on this process.

UDOT design is actively underway and construction is anticipated to begin as early as summer 2027. See the project timeline underneath the project map for more details.

Please visit the Impacts & Updates tab for up-to-date information on ongoing and upcoming work and/or closures.
