Project Overview

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will widen Geneva Road (SR-114) from University Parkway (SR-265) to 1450 South to include two travel lanes in each direction and a center turn lane. Additional improvements will include a bike lane in each direction, a 10-foot-wide multi-use path on the east side and a sidewalk on the west side. Construction is underway and is expected to be completed by late 2026.   

WHAT TO EXPECT 

  • Work Monday through Friday during daylight hours
  • One travel lane in each direction
  • Shoulder closures
  • Increased noise and vibration, intermittently
  • Pedestrian detours as needed

Construction: Summer 2025-Winter 2026

On Tuesday, Feb. 17, crews will begin night work to install concrete barriers along Geneva Road between University Parkway and the Orem Utah Temple from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. 


Lane shifts begin on Geneva Road on Nov. 10, 2025, and continue through spring 2026.


Utility work is underway along Geneva Road and will continue through winter 2025, causing intermittent shoulder closures. 

Additional work will include: 

  • Drainage and irrigation work: Fall 2025 through spring 2026 
  • Road widening: Early 2026 through late 2026
  • Pedestrian features: Fall 2026
