Study Overview
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is conducting a study to identify potential transportation solutions for people connecting to or traveling through and around the Capitol Hill area.
The study will consider existing and projected traffic data and travel patterns, local redevelopment plans, and regional travel needs. The outcome of this study will be a list of potential transportation improvements throughout the study area designed to enhance mobility and optimize connections in the Capitol Hill area and its surroundings.
The study kicked off in late summer 2024 and is scheduled to last approximately one year.
Survey Findings
The study team has collected feedback from citizens who live, work or travel to/through the area. We wanted to learn how you get around, and what would make transportation better. Here are the common themes:
Reduce cut-through commuter traffic through residential areas
Improve walking/biking accessibility and connectivity
Increase public transit access
Ensure appropriate street typologies are applied to roads in the study area
The study team has analyzed data and public input to develop solution sets. The team invites you to attend the public open house on April 22 to learn about these solution sets and provide feedback. Visit the Public Open House tab for more information.
