Main Street (SR-13) Asphalt Rehabilitation Project

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will rehabilitate the asphalt pavement on Main Street (SR-13) through Brigham City from 1100 South (US-91) on the south to I-15 on the north. The project also includes upgrading selected pedestrian sidewalk ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

Key Highlights:

This project involves removing old asphalt and placing new pavement called “Bonded Wearing Course” to enhance this critical route which links the city with I-15 and other Box Elder County municipalities. It involves:

  • ADA Ramp Upgrades: Modifications ensure sidewalk transitions are accessible to everyone.

  • Adjusting Manholes: Lowering utility accesses (ie. manholes and water valves) to allow for milling.

  • Edge Milling: Removing old asphalt which will make the roadway rough temporarily.

  • Paving: Applying Bonded Wearing Course for a smooth finish.

  • Raising Manholes and Valves: Adjusting utility access points to the new roadway surface.

  • Roadway Striping: Applying final paint for striping/crosswalks/messages to new pavement.

Schedule & Impacts:

  • Pedestrian Ramps: Daytime work where possible Monday through Friday 7am to 7pm. Nighttime work in locations were right turn lanes do not exist Monday through Friday 7pm to 7am

  • Roadway: Nighttime work Sunday through Thursday 8pm to 7am.
