Main Street (SR-13) Asphalt Rehabilitation Project
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will rehabilitate the asphalt pavement on Main Street (SR-13) through Brigham City from 1100 South (US-91) on the south to I-15 on the north. The project will start as early as Monday, April 14 and last through July 2025, and also includes upgrading selected pedestrian sidewalk ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
Key Highlights:
This project involves removing old asphalt and placing new pavement called “Bonded Wearing Course” to enhance this critical route which links the city with I-15 and other Box Elder County municipalities. It involves:
ADA Ramp Upgrades: Modifications ensure sidewalk transitions are accessible to everyone.
Adjusting Manholes: Lowering utility accesses (ie. manholes and water valves) to allow for milling.
Edge Milling: Removing old asphalt which will make the roadway rough temporarily.
Paving: Applying Bonded Wearing Course for a smooth finish.
Raising Manholes and Valves: Adjusting utility access points to the new roadway surface.
Roadway Striping: Applying final paint for striping/crosswalks/messages to new pavement.
Schedule & Impacts:
Pedestrian Ramps: Daytime work where possible Monday through Friday 7am to 7pm. Nighttime work in locations were right turn lanes do not exist Monday through Friday 7pm to 7am
Roadway: Nighttime work Sunday through Thursday 8pm to 7am.
Temporary sidewalks closures during ped ramp demolition and reconstruction.
Lane shifts and temporary lane closures during construction.
Business access remains open.
