BLUFF STREET IS NOW OPEN!
As of June 24, Bluff Street between Main Street and the I-15 southbound ramps is now open to both vehicles and pedestrians. The full closure at South Bluff Street was planned to last two weeks, but construction crews completed their work three days ahead of schedule. Drivers can expect additional lane closures in the project area through fall 2022 as crews construct the pedestrian tunnel.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), in conjuction with the City of St. George, is constructing a pedestrian tunnel that will run under Bluff Street between Main Street and the I-15 southbound ramps. Construction will start in early June and continue thrugh fall 2022*. UDOT’s new pedestrian tunnel will run under Bluff Street, connecting the east and west sides of the Hilton Drive Trail. The new connection will give users a safe access across Bluff Street by avoiding the busy Main Street signal.
* Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change
