Due to the extremely narrow working conditions, all traffic currently using the bridge and Exit 111 will be detoured through Croydon via Croydon Road (5800 E) to Henefer Road (6800 E) and access I-84 from Exit 115 (see accompanying map). Residents and businesses in and around Croydon will be asked to use the detour.

“The bridge experiences significant truck traffic due to the Holcim Cement plant

adjacent to the bridge,” according to UDOT Region Communications Manager Mitch Shaw. “Built in the 1930s, it has reached its life expectancy.” He continued. The new structure will be built with wider shoulders, improved sight distance, and feature improvements that will reduce the frequency of the Weber River overflowing onto the bridge deck. Due to the narrow detour route, we encourage drivers to use extra caution when traveling due to the presence of big rigs,” he concluded.

It is estimated that construction will last approximately 120 days.
