Construction Update (Thursday, May 8, 2025)
The speed limit along SR-30 in active work areas has been reduced to 50 mph. Drivers should follow the posted speed limit.
Nighttime Sewer Work
TRAFFIC ALERT: For approximately two weeks, crews will close SR-30 for sewer work between 1900 West and 1400 West each night from 8 p.m. through 5 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning, ending approximately Friday, May 9. Additional intermittent closures will take place through summer 2025.
During these closures, eastbound SR-30 drivers will detour to 600 South via 1900 West, then back to SR-30 via 10th West. Westbound drivers will take 10th West to 200 South, then 1900 West back to SR-30. Please follow posted signage and watch for flaggers.
Local traffic only will be allowed between 10th West and Gateway Drive during the closures.
Trucks and heavy vehicles should follow the signed detour route to reduce turning movement conflicts.
Sidewalk Closure and Pedestrian Detour
Crews have begun work on the northeast corner of 10th West and SR-30 (200 North). The sidewalk on the north side of SR-30 will be closed between 950 West and near the crosswalk at 10th West. Pedestrians can still cross 10th West but will need to detour north to 400 North and back down to SR-30 via 950 West during this work.
Road Surface Repairs and Lane Shifts
Lanes at SR-30 and SR-23 have been shifted to the north in order to accommodate construction of the pedestrian underpass. Crews will be restriping lane lines and patching the temporary pavement. Crews are also working to patch the roadway near SR-23 and potholes throughout the project area as needed.
Lanes will also shift at the Cutler Marsh bridge as crews prepare the area for upcoming work.
Ongoing Project Work
Crews are currently installing conduits and junction boxes for traffic information systems between 1900 West and 10th West. Work is underway for new traffic signals on all four corners at 10th West.
Work on the Logan River Dock parking lot has started and the entrance and parking lot will be temporarily reconfigured. This work and temporary reconfiguration will remain in place until spring 2025.
Work is underway on the pedestrian underpass at the intersection of SR-30 and SR-23. Crews have poured the concrete floor of the pedestrian structure and will install a temporary retaining wall this week.
Logan Power is relocating power lines to underground conduits and is currently working between the auto salvage yard and 10th West.
