Provo Canyon Barrier
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is adding and/or replacing median barrier along U.S. 189 through Provo Canyon.
Lane Closures Planned Wednesday, Oct. 5, through Friday Oct. 7.
The construction contractor for the Provo Canyon Barriers project is scheduled to perform minor barrier repair and pavement work Oct. 5-7.
Work consists of:
- Barrier repair at the tunnel affecting INSIDE LANES Wednesday through Thursday.
- Chip Seal Repair east of the tunnel affecting OUTSIDE LANES Wednesday through Friday.
Single lane closures in each direction will be in place Wednesday, Oct. 5, through Friday, Oct. 7, from the tunnel eastward.
PLEASE SLOW DOWN - Watch for lane shifts and reduce your speed.
Special Safety Notice
There will be loose gravel on the road surface for a few days following chip seal application. Please keep vehicle speeds below the posted 40 miles per hour.
