State Route 191; Arizona State Line to Bluff
Project Overview
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is rehabilitating SR-191 from the Utah/Arizona border to Bluff, Utah in San Juan County through fall 2023*. Work will include the removal and replacement of asphalt to make a smoother ride and extend the life of the roadway, guardrail replacement, new seal overlay on the bridge over the San Juan River, and sign replacement. This work will require single-lane closures controlled by flaggers and motorists can expect delays of up to 20 minutes from 7 a.m. to approximately 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
*Dates are subject to change due to weather, equipment availability or other circumstances

Project Activities:
- Crews will be paving on both sides of the bridge over the San Juan River through Friday, September 22. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers and motorists can expect delays of up to 20 minutes.
- Beginning next Monday, September 25, crews will begin paving driveway approaches along the project corridor. Intermittent access limitations will occur as crews move through driveways.
- Beginning as early as Tuesday, September 26, crews will begin painting final lane striping along the entire project corridor. Motorists can expect minor delays during this work.
