Environmental Assessment (EA) Overview

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is preparing a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Environmental Assessment (EA) to evaluate improving the transportation network in and around the existing half interchange at Interstate 15 (I-15) and 24th Street in Ogden, Utah.  UDOT proposes to convert the existing interchange to a full interchange, improve the local street network in the immediate area, and develop active transportation improvements for enhanced bicycling and walking in the study area. 

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being or have been carried-out by UDOT pursuant to 23 USC 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by FHWA and UDOT.

Descripcion General de la Evalucaion Ambiental (EA)  

El Departamento de Transporte de Utah (UDOT) esta preparando una Evaluacion Ambiental de acuerdo con la Ley Nacional de Politica Ambiental (NEPA) para evaluar mejorias a la red de transporte en y alrededor del medio intercambio existente en la Interestatal 15 (I-15) y 24th Street en Ogden, Utah.  UDOT propone convertir el intercambio existente a un intercambio completo, mejorar la red de calles locales en el area immediata, y desarrollar mejoras para el transporte activo mejorando la experiencia de  montar en bicicleta y caminar en el area de estudio.

La revision ambiental, la consulta, y otras acciones requeridas por las leyes ambientales federales aplicables para este Proyecto estan siendo o han sido realizadas por UDOT de conformidad con 23 USC 327 y un Memorando de Entendimiento con fecha de Mayo 26, 2022, y ejecutado entre FHWA y UDOT.

Progress Update | February 2023

Thanks to everyone who attended, and provided feedback, at the Interstate 15 (I-15) and 24th Street Environmental Assessment (EA) scoping meetings back in June 2022. The materials covered and a recording of the online meeting are available here.

Information gathered during scoping is being used to help inform the EA purpose and need; the purpose being the goals UDOT is trying to achieve, and the need being the problems UDOT is trying to solve.

At this time, UDOT is developing design concepts that aim to address the EA’s purpose and need. See the schedule graphic below for more information on what to expect as the EA progresses. 

Actualizacion del Progreso del Projecto | Febrero 2023

Gracias a todos los que atendieron y brindaron comentarios en las reunions de la fase de exploracion de la evaluacion ambiental del proyecto de la interestatal 15 (I-15) y la Calle 24th en Junio de 2022. Los materiales cubiertos y una grabacion de la reunion en linea estan disponibles en este sitio aqui. 

La informacion recopilada durante la fase de exploracion se utilizara para ayudar a informar el proposito y la necesidad del estudio ambiental; el proposito son los objetivos que UDOT esta tratando de lograr, y la necesidad  son los problemas que UDOT esta tratando de resolver.

En este momento, UDOT esta desarrollando conceptos de diseno que tratan de solucionar el proposito y la necesidad del estudio ambiental. Consulte el grafico de programacion abajo para obtener mas informacion sobre que esperar a medida que avanza el estudio ambiental.
