Project Overview

To extend the life of 9000 South, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will remove and replace the asphalt and upgrade the ADA pedestrian ramps along 9000 South between 4800 West and Bacchus Highway (U-111) in West Jordan. This project is scheduled to start on July 27 with completion at the end of October 2026.

9000 South is a heavily travelled thoroughfare through West Jordan and helps connect the fast growing western part of Salt Lake County. Additionally, this route connects motorists with many shopping destinations, medical services, and Bangerter Highway.

Heavy traffic and Utah’s four seasons take a toll on our roads and State Street needs repairs to the road and upgrades to make the ADA pedestrian ramps compliant with current standards. Once completed, this project will ensure pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists will have access to fully complaint facilities that are in good repair and ready to last another 5-10 years.

The Project design was complete in late 2025 and advertised in Spring 2026. Construction is planned to start on July 27, 206 with completion in October 2026.

Construction will begin on July 27, 2026

  • Beginning on Monday, July 27, crews will begin to remove and replace pedestrian ramps along the project corridor. This work will take place from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for the first couple of weeks.
  • Crews will begin to remove and replace asphalt when pedestrian ramp work is complete. This work will take place nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Residents can expect an increase night noise, vibration and lights during this work. Motorists can expect single lane closures during this work and are advised to slow down and pay attention to traffic control.
