Overview

Project Overview

To extend the life of 5600 West, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will remove and replace the asphalt and upgrade the ADA pedestrian ramps along 5600 West between 3100 South and SR-201 in West Valley City. This project is scheduled to start on Monday,  June 1, 2026 with completion anticipated in September 2026.

5600 West is a heavily travelled thoroughfare through West Valley City and connects to SR -201. Additionally, this route connects motorists with many shopping destinations, and other business and residential areas.

Heavy traffic and Utah’s four seasons take a toll on our roads and 5600 West needs repairs to the road and upgrades to make the ADA pedestrian ramps compliant with current standards. Once completed, this project will ensure pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists will have access to fully compliant facilities that are in good repair and ready to last another 5-10 years.
