OVERVIEW

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will rehabilitate asphalt pavement on 400 South (SR-186) between State Street and 1300 East in Salt Lake City. Additionally, select pedestrian sidewalk ramps will be rebuilt to current Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The project begins April 29 and will be underway through Fall 2024.

400 South is a major east-west corridor that connects Salt Lake City with I-15, the University of Utah, Foothill Drive, and other destinations in the valley.

ANTICIPATED IMPACTS

The contractor will minimize impacts to traffic by performing a majority of the work during nighttime hours, however, please expect the following impacts near/in the work zone:

  • Construction-related noise
  • Vibration
  • Shifting traffic lanes and lane closures.
  • Traffic delays due to lane restrictions and signal work

We ask motorists to reduce speed and watch for changing traffic patterns, lane restrictions, and workers in the roadway.

BENEFITS

  • Preserve infrastructure by replacing the pavement from State Street to 1300 East
