3300 South | SR-171 | 2700 East to I-215 | Improved

UDOT resurfaced State Route 171 (3300 S.) in Salt Lake County from 2700 East to Interstate 215. The project objectives were aimed at preserving the life of the road.

Project Description:​

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) resurfaced State Route 171 (3300 S.) in Salt Lake County from 2700 East to Interstate 215. The project objectives were aimed at preserving the life of the road. This paving process helped increase the longevity of the road surface and enhanced motorist safety by resmoothing asphalt.  Additional work included refreshed line striping, pedestrian ramps to meet ADA compliance, as well as updated roadside signage.   See latest VIDEO of resurfacing work from 9/20/26

Project Milestones

Design: Summer/Fall 2025

  • Public Open House conducted on September 16, 2025

  • Public Comments received regarding restriping of the project area to reduce 3300 South to two lanes and allow for a buffered bike lane.

  • Project team decided not to move forward with restriping.

Construction: August - October 2026

  • Upgraded pedestrian ramps to be ADA compliant
  • Upgraded concrete water-ways were conducted during the day.
  • Paving operations, refreshed line striping, and new signage occurred during the night.
