1600 North Improved

1600 North is a key east/west corridor that links Orem and Lindon to Interstate 15 and other destinations. The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will improve 1600 North (SR-241) from 1200 West to State Street. 1600 North will be widened from three lanes to five lanes. Intersection improvements will be made at 1200 West, 800 West, and State Street, as well as the addition of a multi-use path, full-width shoulders, curb, gutter, and sidewalk to improve safety and accessibility and promote active transportation.

The preferred alternative also includes:

  • A westbound right-turn slip lane at the 1200 West intersection to avoid the power pole at the NE corner of the intersection.
  • A shared driveway for nine residences on the north side of 1600 North between 645 West and 800 West.
  • Extending the eastbound dual left-turn lanes at the State Street intersection approximately 290 feet west, with a raised center median to restrict left-turns into and out of the adjoining commercial properties.
